It started in a sterile lab, at 2 AM, with a pipette in hand and such tired eyes that I could hardly see. That’s when I met him—another researcher with a smile sharper than a CRISPR cut. Our passion for life change built over petri dishes in a lab that smelled of ethanol. But love in a lab is not without volatility. One moment you may be just slicing open some genes and the next, you are slicing your heart open. He soon left for a really prestigious fellowship abroad. I cried on my lab coat. 🥼💧
Chapter 2: The Nomad Strikes Back
So, I ran. I packed my bags, and chased all the sunsets from Patagonia to Kyoto, pretending my heart wasn’t still in that damn lab. I danced with strangers in Barcelona, got lost in the Amazon Rainforest (literally), and kissed a surfer in Bali who just tasted like salt and lies. 🌊 And still, no passport stamp could ever fill void. I was a scientist who couldn’t solve her own equation.
Chapter 3: The One That Was Never Meant to Be
Then there was the architect—so beautiful, so broken, and so allergic to commitment. We built a castle in the air in between my conference trips and his master plans. It lasted a year… until it didn’t. He wanted a home, I wanted the horizon. And then we collapsed like poorly designed plasmid. 🏰⚡
